n 2005, a life-size bronze statue of Phil Lynott was unveiled on Harry Street, off Grafton Street, Dublin.
Raised in the city in the 1960s, Phil Lynott is Dublin’s most beloved musical son. The video for the song Old Town (This Boy is cracking up) was filmed at the Ha’penny Bridge. Referred to as Phil-O by most Dubliners.

Philip Parris “Phil” Lynott was a singer, bassist, musician, songwriter and poet who first came to prominence as the frontman of Thin Lizzy. He released two solo albums and also formed and fronted the band Grand Slam, right up until his death on 4 January 1986. He was 36 years old.
