History of Ancient Bögner House today

Paulaner im Tal

From the time that even the carters , Salzstössler and the so-called ” pattern Reither .” – These were mounted traveling salesmen – came from afar to Munich , from the time when the south side of the valley , ” the valley of Peter” was called and the northern side of ” the valley Marie” , comes the first time a documentary mention of the estate ” Thal 72 ” valley today 12th

It was the year 1524. At that time, the valley was a suburb of Munich, but was still within the city walls . When, in the course of time, proper roads to Munich were built already been developed at that time the valley to ” retreat ” for traveling merchants and craftsmen – that’s why they built stables and created districts.

1612 the house ” Thal 72 ” was purchased by a brewer and transformed into a ” host institution ” . Soon it was not just carters , rafters and traveling merchants who frequented there, but also local businessmen , master, city clerk and councilor .

By 1700 the estate was bequeathed to the convent of St. Christopher .

1758 acquired the innkeeper ” Pögner ” the property and gave him the name. During the next generation was called from . ” Ausspann- and street inn” a proper restaurant, which changed hands several times , however .

1921 acquired the Paulaner brewery, the continuous from the valley to the Westenriederstraße property . After the war, the very heavily damaged buildings were rebuilt . Over the years , it turned out that the old walls and foundations no longer satisfy the structural requirements of today. That’s why we started in 1993 after the demolition with the creation of the new building , with three years of construction.

1996
The new restaurant ” Paulaner im Tal” today has the atmosphere of a traditional Altmünchener – restaurant with lovely details from the period . With the proverbial Bavarian cosiness of a native Munich kitchen and landscaped Paulaner beers and from the wooden barrel , we strive sincerely for our guests.
