Clifton’s Republic’s 3 floors and 5 different spaces was not what captured my eye to this place. It also wasn’t the excellent customer service provided by every single employee of this place. It also wasn’t the great vibes of everyone coming here on a Saturday evening and how easy it is to meet people here. The hook with Clifton’s Republic is that it’s Rainforest Cafe for the young adults of Los Angeles: a more hip, fresh, innovative and different space for people to either mingle amongst each other, or for people to meet other young professionals in a busy city such as L.A. Entry fee is US$20.00 per person, but it is well worth it. You get a small shot of what can be best described as “spiked lemonade”, then you go through some cave and find yourself in the first space. A vast lobby with multiple floors, two bonfires going, and plenty of seating space. There are either conference rooms where you and your friends can be in a more private, personal setting. You keep diving in, and you find yourself in the dance area. A giant oak tree with a bonfire inside of it sits at the far end of it, to the right a bar with great selection, and there is even a small tower-like structure where you can go and just chill? There is even a booth for photos as well. I came with a friend as a goodbye gift (she is moving back to Korea in a week or so) and she thoroughly enjoyed it. Everyone that frequents this place is also friendly, approachable, and overall just great people. Highly recommended lounge/venue to dance, chat and eat amongst taxidermy & nature dioramas.

Didn't expect to make this stop but this placenis just wild. We did have dinner and service was pretty good. Overall it's a very immersive experience with just absolutely too much going on. The 3 different floors each offering a different experience and different bars/drinks.

The amount of effort put into the decor is just astounding. Drinks were pretty top notch too.

Clifton’s is, undoubtedly and with no hyperbole whatsoever, is THE most - exquisitely decorated venue I’ve ever visited anywhere in the world. There are so many unbelievably considered, detailed decorations that an evening here - beyond the amazing, entertainment (costumed, era-appropriate character actors who will regale you with stories of life on the seas, for example) fantastic cocktails, live music, wonderful ambient lighting, are the museum quality, best-of-antique-store decorations that adorn every - every - inch of its magnificent 4 floors. Every room is a new discovery; from sharing a corner with a full size, taxidermy real buffalo, to the real redwood trees, the rocky waterfall, and the minutiae that fill the areas in between the larger decorations, nothing is unconsidered.

I’ve visited many many parts of the world and am, for better or worse, generally underwhelmed by unchallenging contemporary interior design and decoration and never do proverbial backflips for ANYTHING - except for Clifton’s. How wonderful it is to see it reopened in all its splendour.

An underrated gem of an experience and a MUST for anyone living in or visiting Los Angeles, willing to venture downtown, looking for an unforgettably unique experience.

I have no more words.

I just had some cocktails, which made my experience about the food this limited with cocktails. Cocktails were great! The interior design and layout are unique and fun. The venue has four stories and three bars inside, giving it a mix of a club and a bar atmosphere. I also heard they have a ballroom, but it wasn’t open when I visited.

$20 cover fee gets you in this very interesting bar lounge. It was my first time ever attending and what I can only describe as LA's Casa Bonita! It's funky with a different vibe on every level! Although I would have to say, the music doesn't vibe with the different atmospheric themes, should work on that. I love the sequoia tree in the middle of the dance floor! It's just so surreal here, it's really something you just have to see for yourself and nothing can really do it justice with words. While it is a steep cover fee and even steeper drink tabs, it is a fun place!
